Sept. 9 – Baker Hughes submitted the best bids in a Petrobras tender to contract up to 518.3 km of flexible lines, comprising both risers and flowlines. The pipelines are intended for various applications, such as gas lift, water injection, production, gas injection, service, gas export, and oil export. The tender also includes flexible pipelines designed to mitigate CO2-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC-CO₂), as well as associated accessories.
The bidding process was structured into two lots. For the first lot, seeking up to 276.8 km of flexible pipelines and accessories, Baker Hughes submitted a bid of R$ 3.1 billion, while TechnipFMC proposed R$ 3.8 billion and NOV Flexibles offered R$ 4.3 billion. For the second lot, covering up to 241.5 km of lines, Baker Hughes offered R$ 3.2 billion, whereas TechnipFMC proposed R$ 4 billion and NOV Flexibles offered R$ 4.9 billion.
The scope of the tender extends beyond the mere supply of pipelines. It also includes the leasing of reels, the sharing of storage areas for reels and materials, as well as supervision, assembly, engineering, and logistics services, in accordance with the technical specifications outlined in the tender documents and their addenda.
The tender is now entering the evaluation and validation phase, where the leading bid is analyzed for compliance with the requirements established in the tender documents and their annexes. Once compliance is confirmed, the phase for negotiating contract terms will begin. If the price offered by the first-ranked bidder remains above the reference budget even after negotiation, Petrobras may negotiate with the other bidders, following the initially established order.
