May 22 (oilnow.gy) ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) has issued a request for information (RFI) seeking technical input from suppliers for the potential construction of up to two DP2 chemical carrier platform supply vessels (PSVs).
The RFI, published on May 19, outlines plans for a service agreement covering DP2 chemical PSVs designed to carry type I, II and III chemicals and deck cargo, built in line with the latest IMO offshore supply vessel chemical code.
EMGL said the scope includes identifying suppliers capable of delivering vessels through either a charterer-led shipbuilding contract using its preferred shipyard, or through a shipowner-led newbuild proposal that meets required specifications.
Under the proposed charter structure, the vessels would be operated under a time charter arrangement, with a firm charter period and optional extensions. Delivery is planned for Georgetown.
According to Exxon, operations would cover Guyana’s coastal waters and exclusive economic zone (EEZ), as well as wider western Atlantic routes and other ports designated by the charterer. ExxonMobil is the operator of the Stabroek Block, where more than 30 commercial discoveries have been made since 2015. Production started in December 2019 and continues to increase, driving demand for additional support services.
