March 19 – IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) issued a correction to the drilling license for block BM-C-33 in the Campos Basin, where the Raia field is located. In the document, the federal agency authorized the drilling of three wells in the area using the DS-17 drillship, operated by Valaris.
IBAMA permitted the drilling of the wells designated PdA-P1, PdA-14, and PdA-P4, replacing the Seat 3, Gávea 3, and Pão de Açúcar 3 wells, which were included in the first version of the license.
Recently Equinor announced the completion of the lifting of the FPSO modules that will operate in Raia. Measuring 354 meters in length and 64 meters in width, the FPSO Raia will be the first in the country to produce and process natural gas offshore without the need for onshore processing.
With recoverable reserves exceeding one billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) and a flow capacity of 16 million cubic meters of gas per day, the Raia field is expected to begin production in 2028.
