Dec. 9 – Prio is studying the interconnection of the FPSOs of the Peregrino and Tubarão Martelo fields, leveraging the proximity and successful experience of previous interconnections in the Polvo/Tubarão Martelo cluster (Project Phoenix), to optimize costs, increase efficiency and maximize oil recovery, a strategic move following the acquisition of Peregrino from Equinor.
Strategy Details:
Opportunity: After acquiring the Peregrino field, Prio sees synergy with its existing assets, especially with the Polvo/Tubarão Martelo cluster, which already operates with tie-back technology.
Experience: The “Project Phoenix,” which interconnected the FPSO Bravo (Tubarão Martelo) to the Polvo-A platform, has already demonstrated cost reduction and increased efficiency, serving as a basis for the new project.
Expected Benefits:
Cost Reduction: Significant decrease in operational costs (OPEX), such as platform chartering and diesel, as seen in the Polvo example.
Production Increase: Recovery of more oil from reservoirs for a longer period, increasing the recovery factor of the fields.
Asset Optimization: Unification of infrastructure for better management and operation.
Peregrino Context: The interconnection is strategic to integrate Peregrino, a more complex field, into its operation in the neighboring cluster, consolidating an important production area in the Campos Basin.
In summary, Prio seeks to replicate the success of previous tie-backs on a larger scale, integrating Peregrino into its portfolio to create a large production hub with high synergy and efficiency.
