Nov. 26 – Petrobras supplied three Transpetro ships with bunker fuel containing 24% renewable content. The operation took place at the São Sebastião Waterway Terminal (Tebar), in São Paulo.
The fuel that supplied the vessels is composed of 24% biodiesel supplied by Petrobras Biocombustível (PBio). The ships Zumbi dos Palmares, with approximately 1,300 tons, and the vessels Rômulo Almeida and Carlos Drummond de Andrade, with approximately 400 and 300 tons, respectively, were supplied. The total volume supplied to the Petrobras fleet ships is equivalent to the fuel consumption of the ships used as hotels during COP30.
The bunker fuel with renewable content meets the regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which limits the sulfur content in marine fuels. This is a drop-in solution, meaning it can be used by the existing fleet without the need for technical adaptations, positioning Brazil as a competitive alternative for the supply of sustainable marine fuels.

Bunker fuel with renewable content contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with the company’s environmental commitments and international best practices. Petrobras is expanding its logistical capacity for the supply of this type of fuel, both in Brazil and abroad,” says Claudio Schlosser, Petrobras’ Director of Logistics, Commercialization and Markets.
During the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), held in Belém (PA), Petrobras also contributed by supplying diesel with renewable content for the dedicated bus fleet and for power generators used at the event.
