Oct. 15 – Petrobras notified the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) about the discovery of oil traces in well 3-BRSA-1400A-SPS, in a water depth of 1,834 meters.
The company drilled the well in mid-July using the West Auriga drillship. This was the fourth oil discovery in Aram this year alone. The others occurred in September, May, and March.
Aram was acquired in March 2020 during the 6th bidding round of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) under the production sharing regime, with Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA) as the contract manager. Petrobras is the operator of the area, with an 80% stake, in partnership with CNPC (20%).
