OceanPact signs R$1Billion contract with Trident Energy to decommission three platforms

Sept. 17 (PN) OceanPact has signed a contract worth over R$1 billion with Trident Energy of Brazil to perform offshore decommissioning services under the EPRD (Engineering, Preparation, Recovery, and Final Disposal) model. The project covers the subsea infrastructure of the remaining production systems of the P-07, P-12, and P-15 platforms in the Campos Basin, with work scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026 and lasting up to three years. The contract includes the use of RSV (ROV Support Vessel) vessels from the OceanPact fleet, prepared for decommissioning operations. Activities include detailed engineering and mapping, removal of flexible lines and subsea equipment with ROV support, as well as disconnections and cuts. OceanPact will also handle onshore dismantling and environmentally appropriate final disposal, prioritizing recycling and stimulating the circular economy.

Erik Fabian Cunha, Commercial and Marketing Director at OceanPact, said, “This decommissioning contract reflects the joint efforts of our business units and subsidiaries to seek operational synergies and efficiency gains. We were able to structure a competitive proposal, based on a robust, reliable, and operationally safe technical solution. OceanPact brings together all the necessary expertise to deliver a complete and integrated offshore decommissioning solution.”

EnvironPact, a specialized subsidiary of OceanPact, will handle the environmental, operational safety, and risk management phases. The Subsea Operations Area will be responsible for removing lines and structures, while OceanPact Geo will conduct the surveys. OceanPact Log will handle onshore management and dismantling. With the support of its own fleet, OceanPact ensures that offshore activities are carried out with maximum efficiency, safety, and reliability. With 28 vessels and the largest inventory of offshore emergency response equipment in Latin America, OceanPact has established itself as a Brazilian company capable of delivering a complete cycle of decommissioning projects. The signing of the contract with Trident Energy of Brazil expands the company’s presence in the subsea engineering market, reaffirming its technical capabilities, commitment to safety, and adoption of sustainable practices in the responsible closure of offshore operations, in accordance with global best practices and Brazilian regulatory requirements.
