(PN) Petrobras had to restart drilling the pioneer well (1-BRSA-1401D-RJS) in the Agua Marinha pre-salt layer of the Campos Basin. The new well, technically named 1-BRSA-1401DA-RJS, is in a water depth of 2,601 meters. The drilling is being carried out with the Deepwater Aquila drillship.
In addition to the Agua Marinha activity, Petrobras drilled a repeat well this week (3-BRSA-1400A-SPS), this time in the Aram block, in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer. The drillship West Auriga drilled the original well (3-BRSA-1400-SPS) on June 20th.
The Agua Marinha block, in the Campos Basin pre-salt layer, was auctioned in 2022 during the first cycle of the Permanent Share Offer. Petrobras is the operator of the area, with a 30% stake, in partnership with TotalEnergies (30%), Petronas (20%), and QatarEnergy (20%).
Aram was acquired in March 2020, during the 6th bidding round of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), under the production sharing regime, with Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA) as the contract manager. Petrobras is the operator of the area, with an 80% stake, in partnership with CNPC (20%).
