MODEC FPSOs boost Brazil oil and gas production, according to ANP data

(TN) MODEC’s fleet continues to stand out in the Brazilian offshore production scenario. According to the Dynamic Oil and Natural Gas Production Panel, from April 2025, made available by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), FPSO Guanabara MV31, FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 and FPSO Carioca MV30 are among the ten largest oil and gas producers in the country, occupying, respectively, the first, sixth and seventh places in the national ranking. The three together account for approximately 15% of the national production of oil equivalent.

Furthermore, the FPSO Guanabara MV31 was once again highlighted as the largest national producer, with an average production of 184,000 barrels of oil and 12.09 million m³ of gas per day, reinforcing its strategic importance in the development of the pre-salt layer and for the country’s energy matrix. Operating in the Mero field, in the Santos Basin, the FPSO Guanabara MV31 has achieved significant results among the largest national producers since its start of operations in April 2022. The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32, in operation since May 2023 in the Búzios field, has also demonstrated robust performance, having reached peak production of 150,000 barrels per day in less than five months of operation.

According to Petrobras, the Buzios field should soon surpass the production of Tupi, which is currently the largest producing field in the country.

“MODEC is extremely proud to contribute directly, together with our client, to the production of the largest fields in Brazil. Each milestone achieved by our fleet reflects the result of the dedicated work of professionals who work with the purpose of delivering operational excellence with safety,” says Rodrigo Rocha, Business Development Manager at MODEC in Brazil.
