(PN)The hull of the platform ship (FPSO) P-80 left the Chinese shipyard CIMC Raffles Offshore and headed to a new stage of the project. The vessel is on its way to the Seatrium shipyard in Singapore, where it will undergo the module integration phase. The platform is expected to enter into operation in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, in 2027.
As a reminder, Petrobras chose Keppel Shipyard to build the ship in August 2022. However, the company merged with Sembcorp Marine, giving rise to Seatrium. The P-80 will be one of the largest platforms in Brazil, with the capacity to produce up to 225,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), process up to 12 million cubic meters of gas per day and store more than 1.6 million barrels. The unit will be connected to 14 wells, seven of which will be oil producers and seven will be injectors, and is expected to begin operations in 2026.
The platform is part of the new generation of Petrobras units, designed for high production capacity and equipped with innovative technologies to reduce CO₂ emissions. Highlights include the closed flare system, which increases the use of gas and prevents it from burning in the atmosphere, ensuring greater safety and sustainability. Another innovation is the methane gas detection system, developed to prevent and mitigate the risk of methane gas leaks.
