SLB OneSubsea signs contract with Petrobras to acquire subsea equipment for the Roncador Field

(TN) Petrobras signed a contract to acquire subsea equipment for the Roncador field in the Campos Basin. The contract will generate approximately 500 direct and indirect jobs.

The agreement with the SLB OneSubsea group provides for the supply of 2 Subsea Production Manifolds (MSP), 1 Electro-Hydraulic Distribution Unit (UDEH) and spare equipment. The provision of services involves installation, commissioning, intervention, maintenance and preservation of the equipment.

The contract establishes a minimum requirement of 40% local content for the demand for goods and services. However, the expectation is to reach a percentage of 65%, which contributes to the strengthening of the national economy.

The MSP and UDEH will be manufactured at OneSubsea SLB facilities in Taubaté (SP) and Curitiba (PR), with the manufacturing process scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025. The service demand will be met at factories in Macaé (RJ) and Rio das Ostras (RJ).

These subsea equipment are essential for offshore oil and gas production projects. The Subsea Production Manifold (MSP) concentrates the production of two or more wells before directing the production to the Stationary Production Unit (UEP). The Hydraulic Distribution Units (UDEH) supply the hydraulic fluid required to connect the subsea umbilicals between the wells and the UEP.

About the Roncador field

Platforms P-52 (Mod 1A), P-54 (Mod 2), P-55 (Mod 3) and P-62 (Mod 4) produce oil and gas from the Roncador field, which is a strategic partnership with Equinor. Petrobras holds a 75% stake in the Roncador field and Equinor holds 25%.

While P-54 and P-62 are FPSOs (floating production, storage and offloading units), P-52 and P-55 are SS-type UEPs (stationary semi-submersible production units), having been installed in 2007, 2007, 2013 and 2014, respectively. They are installed in water depths between 1,400m and 1,840m.
