(PN) Yinson announced that the FPSO Maria Quitéria departed the Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry shipyard, in China, heading to Brazil. The vessel is expected to arrive in the country during the second quarter of 2024 and will be installed in the Jubarte field, in the northern part of the Campos Basin. The FPSO will be interconnected to 17 wells, nine of which are oil producers and eight water injectors, through subsea infrastructure consisting of flexible pipelines, electro-hydraulic umbilicals and wet Christmas trees.
The unit will have a processing capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil and 5 million m³ of gas per day. “She is the first ship in our fleet to feature heat recovery steam generation (HRSG) as part of the combined cycle power generation system. We believe that HRSG, along with other technologies we are implementing, will play an integral role in our decarbonization efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the FPSO industry,” said Yinson.
Yinson Production was chosen to develop the FPSO Maria Quitéria by Petrobras in November 2021 and conversion work began on January 25, 2022. This will be Yinson Production’s third FPSO destined for Brazil, following the FPSO Anna Nery, which is operating for Petrobras since May 2023, and the FPSO Atlanta, which will begin production for Enauta in August.
The Parque das Baleias area is formed by the fields of Jubarte, Baleia Anã, Cachalote, Caxaréu, Pirambú and Mangangá. The first field, Jubarte, was discovered in 2001. In 2019, Petrobras and the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) signed an agreement to extend the concession period until 2056 for the new unified Jubarte field, which makes the implementation of the new production system of the Parque das Baleias Integrated Project, in addition to complementary projects in the area.
