(PN) OceanPact, one of the leading companies in responding to offshore emergencies in the country, signed new contracts with Petrobras for a period of four years to charter three OSRVs (Oil Spill Response Vessel) worth a total of R$650 million. The vessels Fernando de Noronha, Jim O’Brien and Macaé will be at the service of Petrobras in operations off the Brazilian coast to provide readiness and emergency response in the event of environmental incidents.
“The offshore industry is experiencing an improvement in daily vessel rates, a change directly driven by increased demand arising from new oil and gas projects, especially opportunities generated by Petrobras. This growing demand for vessels highlights the expansion and new perspectives that are opening up for companies like OceanPact ”, said the company’s Commercial Director, Érik Cunha.
The OSRVs Fernando de Noronha, Jim O’Brien and Macaé are three of OceanPact’s eight OSRVs, which has a fleet of 28 vessels, also comprising RSVs (ROV Support Vessels), PSVs (Platform Supply Vessels), RVs (Research Vessels ), MPSVs (Multi Purpose Support Vessels), AHTSs (Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels) and OTSVs (Offshore Terminal Support Vessel). OceanPact also has the largest inventory of offshore emergency response equipment in Latin America.
