(PN) Petrobras took a new step in its exploration program in the Espírito Santo Basin. The company started drilling well 1-BRSA-1391-ESS, in block ES-M-596, in a water depth of 2,100 meters. The activity is being carried out with the Norbe IX drillship, from Foresea, according to information from the National Petroleum Agency (ANP).

The ES-M-596 block was acquired by Petrobras in 2013, during the 11th Bidding Round, along with five other concessions on the Espírito Santo coast: ES-M-598 and ES-M-673 (80% Petrobras and 20% Enauta) ; ES-M-671 and ES-M-743 (100% Petrobras) and ES-M-669 (40% Petrobras, 35% Equinor and 25% TotalEnergies).

In mid-February, Petrobras also began drilling a new well in block POT-M-762, in the Potiguar Basin, 79 km off the coast of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The probe used in the activity was ODN-II, also owned by Foresea. The well is at a water depth of 2,196 meters.
