(PN) The Norwegian oil company Equinor signed a letter of intent with the Brazilian construction company Azevedo & Travassos (A&T) for the works on the 4.5 km onshore section of the gas pipeline that will transport production from the Raia Project, in the Campos Basin. Construction will be carried out in Macaé (RJ), under the EPCIC modality (Engineering, Supply of Equipment and Materials, Construction, Installation and Commissioning), according to a statement to the market signed by A&T’s director of investor relations, Bernardo Mendonça.
The value of the agreement is R$500 million. In addition to the construction of the gas pipeline section, the scope of work involves the works on the Raia Project’s gas reception facilities. The contract consists of three main parts: “Landfall Valve Site”, “Onshore Pipeline” and “Gas Receiving Facilities”, and has an execution period of approximately 46 months. There is an expectation that work will begin in 2025.
As a reminder, Equinor presented in September the declarations of commerciality and development plans for two natural gas fields – Raia Manta and Raia Pintada – in the BM-C-33 concession, in the Campos Basin. The Norwegian company is the operator of the asset, with a 35% stake, in partnership with Repsol Sinopec Brasil and Petrobrás, which hold 35 and 30% stakes, respectively. The commercialization of gas from Raia will be carried out through the 200 km gas pipeline, which will connect the FPSO to a receiving station in Cabiúnas, in the city of Macaé (RJ).
The project development concept encompasses an FPSO capable of processing gas and oil/condensate to meet sales specifications without additional onshore processing. The ship will have a production capacity of 16 million cubic meters of gas per day, with an estimated average flow of 14 million cubic meters of gas per day.
