(TN) Petrobras’ P-71 FPSO reached its maximum production of 150 thousand barrels of oil per day, last Wednesday, in the pre-salt Santos Basin. The FPSO-type unit (floating production, storage and transfer system) is the only production platform installed in Itapu, 200 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. This field is operated by Petrobras, with 100% participation, under two regimes, Onerous Assignment and Production Sharing. Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) is the manager of the Production Sharing contract, with co-participation in the Transfer of Rights contract.
P-71 is the sixth FPSO of the replicant type installed in the Santos Basin. Replicants are characterized by a standardized engineering design, with high production capacity. Furthermore, they have advanced technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as, for example, the so-called FGRS (“Flare Gas Recovery System”), used to take advantage of the gas generated in the production process and reduce its burning and release into the atmosphere.
“Petrobras has this excellent combination of qualified technical staff and cutting-edge technologies, which contributed to the significant increase in pre-salt production. This combination benefits the company, which is successful in its operations, as well as being important for the growth of the industry, with the representative participation of our suppliers”, declared Carlos José Travassos, director of Engineering, Technology and Innovation at Petrobras.
