(PN) The Brazilian Environmental Institute (IBAMA) granted Petrobras the installation license for the platform ship (FPSO) Almirante Tamandare, which will be installed in the Buzios field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The platform’s first oil is scheduled for the second half of 2024.
The vessel will be the sixth definitive production unit in the Buzios field and the largest to operate on the Brazilian coast, with a daily processing capacity of 225 thousand barrels of oil and 12 million m³ of natural gas. The ship is being built by Dutch company SBM Offshore, which will charter the FPSO to Petrobras for 26 years.
The project foresees the interconnection of 15 wells to the FPSO: there will be six oil producers, six other water and gas injectors, one gas injector and two more convertible wells. They will be connected through a subsea infrastructure made up of rigid production and injection pipelines and flexible service pipelines.
