Tenaris and Petrobras signed a three-year supply contract for corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) pipes for offshore operations in Brazilian pre salt.
The contract provides for the supply of pipes produced with CRA materials and finished with premium connections. The products will be manufactured in Sweden in partnership with Alleima and threaded at the Tenaris facility in Aberdeen.
Alleima (formerly Sandvik Materials Technology) is a developer of advanced stainless steels such as special alloys, titanium and other high-performance materials. The strategic partnership between Tenaris and Alleima, then Sandvik, began in 2003 to add value to the oil and gas industry through research, product development and the manufacture of special tubular solutions for applications in highly demanding conditions.
