FPSO Anita Garibaldi heads for BRAZIL

(PN) Petrobras announced that the Modec FPSO Anita Garibaldi left the DSIC Marine Yard shipyard, in the city of Dalian, China, for the Jurong shipyard, in the city of Aracruz (ES). The FPSO will be installed in the Marlim and Voador fields, in the Campos Basin, with production start scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.

When it arrives at the Jurong shipyard, the FPSO will receive commissioning activities, in addition to regulatory inspections and operational tests. Soon after, it will depart towards the Campos Basin. The vessel has the capacity to produce up to 80,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and process up to 7 million m3 of gas/day. As a reminder, the FPSO Anita Garibaldi is part of the Marlim and Voador Revitalization Project.

Petrobras’ idea is to connect the new platform to 43 wells, with production peaking in 2026. The Marlim Revitalization Project plans to replace the nine platforms currently operating in the Marlim and Voador fields (P-18, P-19, P-20, P-26, P-32, P-33, P-35, P-37 and P-47) by the new FPSOs Anita Garibaldi and Anna Nery.

“The new FPSO will be strategic for the Campos Basin Renewal Plan, aimed at renovating mature assets operated by the company in the region. Petrobras is investing US$ 16 billion in this program, which is part of its Strategic Plan for the period from 2022 to 2026,” said the oil company. “An international hub of offshore technology and the cradle of deepwater production in Brazil, the Campos Basin was a pioneer in innovation and will continue to be for both decommissioning projects and the revitalization of mature concessions”, concluded the company.
