Vallourec was contracted by OneSubsea to supply pipes and connections for the subsea system in the Bacalhau field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin. The area is at a water depth of 2,050 meters and is operated by Equinor. The products that will be delivered by Vallourec under this contract will be produced at its factory located in Aulnoye-Aymeries, in northern France.
“We are very proud to have been selected by OneSubsea and Equinor for the Bacalhau project. Being chosen to supply a demanding open water intervention riser system gives us the opportunity to prove that our molded pipes are highly efficient and competitive,” said Vallourec Senior Vice President Europe/Africa Hubert Paris.
Vallourec will supply pipes and connections that will form the column that will place the equipment on the seabed, such as wellhead, casing hanger, tubing hanger, etc. In addition, some interventions in the well during its useful life will also be carried out with this column. According to the company, the material sold is the VAM TTR HW-NA connection and this column is called a landstring.
The contract was awarded on behalf of the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA), a strategic global alliance between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea. Asreported, SIA was chosen by Equinor to supply the SURF package (subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines) for the Bacalhau field, which is expected to start producing in 2024.
