(PetroleoHoje)The latest seismic data collected by PGS in the Campos Basin indicate a potential for emerging plays near the Urissane and Mairarê wells. The wells were drilled by Petrobras in 2020 and 2021, respectively, and Urissane generated an oil discovery at the end of January last year.
According to John Cramer, Brazil Area Manager at PGS, “the attention is focused on Campos, due to the encouraging announcements of hydrocarbons in the recent wells of Urissanê and Mairarê, the anticipation of the Marolo-1 well in the south [drilled by TotalEnergies in January of this year], along with several other wells permitted in the area. These data indicate more potential in the basin,” he said in a statement.
These seismic data were generated from the PGS GeoStreamer X survey, carried out in deep waters outside the Campos Basin, where new gravimetric and magnetic data are also available, which were conceived from the reprocessing of 2D data from the north of the basin along with 3D data.
This data – which covers blocks C-M-212, 279, 348, 350, 415, 417, 483, 485, 549 – is expected to be available in August. PGS says that three of these blocks (CM-350, 417 and 485) will be offered in the next round of the permanent offer, but the ANP confirmed to PetróleoHoje that these areas are not included in the list of the 1,068 blocks made available for offer in the auction, according to public files.
The public session for the presentation of the 3rd permanent round offers is scheduled for April 13 this year
