The Brazilian Institute for the Environment (IBAMA) this week granted a license that authorizes the carrying out of 4D seismic surveys in the Roncador and Albacora Leste fields, in the Campos Basin. The document will be valid for one year and eight months.
The seismic study may rely on one of the following vessels: MV Ramform Vanguard or MV Ramform Sovereign, log vessels with cable trailers. In addition, the following source ships: MV Ramform Victory or Sanco Spirit.
In August IBAMA also granted the operating license for Petrobras to carry out the multi-azimuth 3D and 4D seismic survey activity in the Albacora, Marlim and Voador fields, also in the Campos Basin.
Seismic research activity is at a time of recovery around the world. A Rystad Energy report indicates that about 68% of seismic vessels are in service, which is the same level last recorded in the first quarter of 2020.
