Ocyan bags maintenance and service contract for the Merluza and Mexilhão platforms

Ocyan won a new contract from Petrobras for maintenance activities and offshore services on the Merluza and Mexilhão platforms, in the Santos Basin. The contract will be for the next three years and can be renewed for another 24 months. Initially, 220 workers will be mobilized for the project and the forecast is to reach a peak of hiring of up to 700 professionals to perform these services. When necessary, professionals from different areas and disciplines will be hired, such as: engineers, technicians, painters, welders, climbers…

“The resumption of our offshore maintenance and services area takes place after a period of retraction and transition from the market and during the current divestment movement of Petrobras. We are achieving our goals, combining our technical expertise with the ability to offer a wide range of services covering the entire chain. That is why we were ready to take advantage of the opportunities created in this current scenario ”, celebrates Vinicius Castilho, contract director for Ocyan’s Maintenance and Offshore Services area.

Among the main activities foreseen in this contract are the maintenance and repair services of the Units, the planning and execution of boilerwork, welding, painting, electrical and instrumentation services, equipment maintenance; planning and execution of maintenance campaigns and scheduled shutdowns, among others.

Ocyan’s Offshore Maintenance and Services business unit has extensive experience that can be translated into numbers. Since 2000, it has added more than 30 performed contracts, 1 million engineering hours, more than 120 production and drilling stops, more than 10 thousand tons of pipes and structures assembled on board the facilities at sea, more than 1 million square meters painted and 14 million meters of assembled scaffolding. “We have almost 80 million man-hours worked with the highest level of safety and quality in the market”, informs Vinicius de Castilho.

The company reached a record of 20 million man-hours worked without a lost-time accident, as a result of the work of raising awareness among the members, involving all sectors in which we operate, in addition to varied training and compliance with our procedures.

In addition, the offshore maintenance and services unit has a robust management system that allows customers to guarantee Safety, Quality and Productivity. The area has ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and OHASAS 18001: 2007 certifications.
