The encouraging projections for the Brazilian subsea market in 2021 are starting to materialize. Petrobras launched a tender for contracting the production collection system and anchoring services of the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, the sixth production unit in the Buzios field, earlier this week. The bidding will last until June 7, when the state company will open the envelopes with the bidders’ proposals.
The scope of the contract covers engineering design services, supply of goods, platform anchoring, underwater installations and interconnections of rigid, flexible and umbilical ducts of the platform. The Almirante Tamandaré FPSO will be the largest oil platform in Brazil, with a capacity to produce 225 thousand barrels of oil per day and 12 million m³ / day of natural gas.
The FPSO should start operating in 2024. According to Petrobras, the unit will be connected to a total of 15 wells, eight of which are producers, six water and gas injectors (WAG) and one natural gas injector. .
The winner will interconnect the 15 wells to the FPSO, in addition to anchoring the platform vessel by installing 24 fixed points with torpedo piles. The production ducts of the system will be rigid and will be 8 inches. The service ducts and jumpers, on the other hand, will be flexible, with 4 inches. Recently, TechnipFMC published a report with positive expectations for the Brazilian subsea market. The company projected that Brazil will be the country with the largest number of such projects in 2021 worldwide.
