FPSO CARIOCA WILL ARRIVE IN BRAZIL THIS WEEK FOR INTEGRATION IN ANGRA DOS REIS

The FPSO Carioca will arrive in Brazil this week, according to Petrobras. The unit will be docked at the BRASFels shipyard in Angra dos Reis. There, the platform ship will go through the latest integration and commissioning activities before leaving for its final destination, the Sepia field, in the Santos Basin.

The unit was built at the Dalian shipyard in China, from where it left for Brazil in November last year. The platform is expected to start production in mid-2021 and will have a processing capacity of 180 thousand barrels per day and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. Modec will operate the unit for Petrobras for 21 years.

The Sepia field project includes the interconnection of up to 15 wells to the platform. The charter contract provides that Modec will operate the ship for Petrobras for a period of 21 years. This will be the 13th FPSO / FSO that the Japanese group will supply in Brazil, as well as the company’s sixth FPSO in the pre-salt.
