PETROBRAS REQUESTS OPERATING LICENSE FOR FPSO CARIOCA TO BE INSTALLED IN SEPIA

While Modec finalizes the construction works of the FPSO Carioca, Petrobras is advancing in licensing the project. The state-owned company has requested Ibama in the last few days for the operating license of the platform vessel, which it will produce in the Sépia field, in the Santos basin.

The FPSO will be installed approximately 250 km from the Brazilian coast, in a water depth of 2,140 meters, and will be able to process up to 180,000 barrels per day of oil and 6 million m³ / day of natural gas. The unit will be operated by Modec and chartered for up to 21 years.

In the last update made by Petrobras on the progress of the FPSO work, the state-owned company said that the works had more than 88% of physical progress. The vessel should start operating next year. The project contemplates the interconnection of up to 15 wells to the platform.
