Sept 10, 2020

The agency announced today the name of Raphael Moura as its new interim director general. Currently occupying a role in the superintendence of the ANP, Moura will assume the new role from next Monday (14), replacing José Gutman, who had occupied the post since March 28.

The new director general of ANP has been in the agency since 2005 and, since then, he has held several strategic functions in the agency, as Head of the Operational Safety Coordination, Infrastructure and Handling Superintendent, Board Advisor, and the most recent, Exploration Superintendent and Superintendent of Operational Safety and Environment.

Moura holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Liverpool and a Master’s in Risk Management from Cranfield University, both in England. He also holds an MBA in Enterprise Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. In addition, he is also graduated in Production Engineering with an emphasis on Mechatronics, by CEFET-RJ, and post-graduated in Offshore Systems, by UFRJ.

The ANP is still awaiting approval by the Senate of the name of Rear Admiral Rodolfo Henrique de Saboia to assume the general direction of the body, a vacancy left after the departure of Décio Oddone.
