WEG obtained an important contract with Petrobras to supply eight turbogenerators for the FPSOs Buzios V and Mero 2. With the new arrangement, WEG expects to generate revenue of approximately R $ 160 million.
Of the total equipment, four of them will be 36 MW 3600 rpm and four of 33 MW 1800 rpm. In addition to the turbogenerators, WEG will also supply 60 medium voltage motors, hundreds of low voltage motors and frequency inverters for both projects.
In a statement, WEG said that it has a solid record of supplying turbogenerators and that it is one of the main suppliers of solutions for oil and gas platforms in the country.
The Buzios V platform will be called Almirante Barroso and will be able to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. It will be installed in the Buzios field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. Mero 2, which will be called FPSO Sepetiba, will have the capacity to process up to 180 thousand barrels of oil per day and 12 million m³ / day of gas. It will be in the Mero field, also in the Santos Basin.
