Brazilian production still feels the demand effects of the coronavirus pandemic and suffered a further drop in May. During the period, 2.77 million barrels were extracted per day, which represents a decrease of 6.52% in comparison with the previous month.
Meanwhile, natural gas production also declined in May. Altogether, there were 114.3 million cubic meters per day produced, a decrease of 7.7% using the same basis of comparison. Adding oil and gas, Brazilian production last month reached 3.48 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
In the pre-salt, the fields produced 2.3 million barrels of oil equivalent, down 9% compared to April. The field of greatest production was Lula, with 888.6 thousand barrels of oil per day and 39.2 million cubic meters of gas per day.
