BUREAU VERITAS LAUNCHES REMOTE INSPECTION SERVICE FOR THE MARITIME AND OFFSHORE SECTOR IN BRAZIL Group is bringing its remote inspection service for verification and testing of equipment manufacturers for ships and platforms to the Brazilian market. The novelty would only arrive in the country in the future, but the company accelerated the launching process, given the current situation imposed by the coronavirus, which demands more care with professionals and customers.
“We are recognized for the technological innovations developed to continuously improve the activities of the markets in which we operate. We were the first company to offer inspection with drones on board ships and platforms in Brazil. Now, attentive to the care that the pandemic requires, we anticipate the process of modernization of the sector “, explained the Director of the Maritime & Offshore Division of the company, Marcio Pereira.
According to Bureau Veritas, the new service allows the surveyor to carry out the operation from anywhere and gives more speed to the conclusion of the report, which is delivered to the client in digital form. The company also adds that this is a change of concept, with remote application for as long as necessary and evaluation of the extension of part of the inspections to a more favorable moment, when the peak of contamination has passed.
