The director of exploration and production at Petrobras, Carlos Alberto Pereira de Oliveira, declared that the exploration of the pre-salt is viable even in the face of the current scenario of lower prices. The statement was made today (17), in an online press conference.
“We have a very robust portfolio, particularly in the pre-salt layer, where we have seen that even in a prospective scenario of US $ 20 per barrel,” said the executive. “Exploration is indeed feasible in the scenario of lower prices. Only in this scenario, we need to manage cash. Because of this, we will adjust the speed of investments according to this operational generation ”, he added.
Oliveira also said that the company continues to focus on pre-salt and its strategy of focusing on deep-water and pre-salt assets. The price of the WTI barrel ends this week with a devaluation of 8.5%, being quoted at $ 18.18. The Brent barrel accumulated a gain of 1.8%, reaching US $ 28.30.
