José Mauro Ferreira Coelho will assume the Secretariat of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (SPG), of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), replacing Renata Isfer, who remains in the ministry. José Mauro is the current director of studies for Oil, Gas and Biofuels at the Energy Research Company (EPE).
José Mauro has been active in the oil, natural gas and biofuels sectors for 25 years. He was an undergraduate and graduate professor and researcher in the fields of oil and energy, according to the curriculum published on the EPE website.
Renata Isfer has worked at SPG since the beginning of the Bolsonaro government. After the departure of Márcio Félix, in August 2019, he assumed the ownership of the secretariat. She is a federal prosecutor, made a career at the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) and joined MME about three years ago, initially, as a legal consultant.
