One of the most anticipated investments in oil and gas in Espírito Santo has been postponed for the next three years. The Parque das Baleias Integrated project had its start-up date postponed by Petrobras to 2023.
Initially, the investment was announced for 2021 and had already been postponed to 2022. The new change, to 2023, is included in the Petrobras Business and Management Plan (2020-2024).
The reason for the postponement was not explained by Petrobras. The project had scheduled investments in the order of R$ 5.6 billion.
The Parque das Baleias Integrated is the most important project planned by Petrobras since 2014, when the P-58 platform activity began.
The project is expected to link 25 new and operational wells that will produce for both the new platform vessel and other existing structures in the region. The venture, when operating, should produce 100,000 barrels of oil and 5 million cubic meters of gas.
