Karoon will raise AUD 284 million (US $ 194.42 million) to complete financing for the acquisition of the Bauna field, located in block BM-S-40, in the Santos Basin. The operation also aims to support future projects of the company.
According to Karoon director Robert Hosking, the measure represents the final stage of the acquisition of Bauna. As part of the deal, the company has announced, in recent weeks, a contract with Shell West to sell oil produced in the field and a credit line with ING Bank.
The field was purchased from Petrobras in July for U$ 665 million, and the completion of the operation is expected to be formalized in 2020.
Bauna has been producing light oil (33rd API) since February 2012 with FPSO Cidade de Itajaí, operated by the Ocyan / Teekay consortium. In August, the asset extracted 19,000 bopd and 135 million m³ / d of gas, according to ANP data.
