CNPE will evaluate proposed inclusion of assets located within the polygon that have already been auctioned or returned
On the agenda of the next meeting of CNPE, the inclusion of exploratory blocks located within the pre-salt polygon in the permanent offer regime was approved by the ANP board of directors meeting .
The agency’s proposal is to include only blocks that have been returned or that have already been the object of previous rounds, as well as fields returned or in the process of being returned. Areas under contract and foreseen for supply in the 6th, 7th and 8th rounds of production sharing would be left out.
At the same meeting, the ANP decided to propose to CNPE that it has more flexibility to readjust the dimensions and shapes of the blocks within the pre-salt polygon, according to geological and geophysical studies.
Another recommendation is that if the agency’s technical area identifies a new relevant pre-salt exploratory opportunity – given the binomial “large real extent combined with low exploratory risk” – it should be bid in a round of production sharing.
Following the 16th bidding round, on the 10th of this month, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, said that the government will launch a program to improve exploratory blocks bidding policy to maximize Union gains. and the end of Petrobras’ preemptive pre-salt rights and the production sharing regime.
