Petrobras postpones for two months submission of proposals for subsea engineering tenders

Oct 16, 2019

Petrobras postponed to December the submission of subsea proposals for the provision of engineering services, supplies, construction and installation (EPCI)  for Mero 2 and Búzios V. Scheduled for October, the dates are set for the 9 and 30 of the last month of the year respectively.

These are the only major tenders in the ongoing subsea engineering segment in the market. Potential contract candidates include McDermott, Saipem, Sapura, Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC.

The subsea EPCI of Mero 1  went to TechnipFMC in February this year. Three months later, McDermott signed with Petrobras the contract for the Sepia field, which, like Buzios, is in the transfer of rights area.

The first oil of Mero 2 and Buzios V is scheduled for 2022.
