New times for the Brazilian Petroleum Institute (IBP), which should confirm, in the coming weeks, economist Clarissa Lins as the new president of the institution. The appointment of the executive was approved this week by the Board of Directors of IBP. The next step now will be the voting of the members at the Extraordinary General Assembly scheduled for the second half of October, when Clarissa’s name tends to be definitively approved.
The current president, José Firmo, resigned from office on personal grounds. He now goes on a new journey as CEO of Porto do Açu Operations. The company is a subsidiary of Prumo and is responsible for operating and managing Porto Açu in São João da Barra (RJ). Firmo takes over the new role as of November 1st.
Meanwhile, Clarissa will be responsible for the presidency of the IBP until the end of the current term in March 2021. Firmo will conduct a transition process, which will begin in November.
The new president is founding partner of Catavento, a consulting firm specializing in strategy and sustainability. The executive has also been a member of the Petrobras Board of Directors since May 2018. She has also served as director of the IBP since April 2016. Clarissa is an economist graduated from PUC Rio de Janeiro, with a master’s degree in economics.
