Total Eren, the renewable energy arm of the French oil giant Total, expects to reach 1 GW of installed capacity in Brazil in up to ten years, compared to about 140 MW today, said Total E&P’s president Philippe Blanchard.
“We have the ambition to reach 1 GW here in Brazil in five or ten years,” he said during his presentation at an event on energy transition promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Finance Executives (Ibef) in Rio de Janeiro.
The company, which has three solar projects in the country, closed in April the acquisition of its first wind generation project in Brazil, a complex in Rio Grande do Norte that has an installed capacity of about 92 megawatts.
