PETROBRAS FINDS OIL INDICATIONS IN DEEPWATER OF SERGIPE-ALAGOAS BASIN

Petrobras has made a new notification of verified evidence of oil. This time, the discovery took place in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, within block BM-SEAL-4, at 2,647 meters of water depth, in well 3-BRSA-1368-SES.

Drilling of well 3-BRSA-1368-SES began on June 20 of this year, through the Petrobras 10,000 rig. Petrobras is the operator of block BM-SEAL-4, with a 75% stake. However, the company is selling a 35% stake in the area, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) with 35%.

Ibama granted a longer period for Petrobras to install the FPSO Cidade de São Vicente in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin. The platform will be used in the Farfan Long Term Test (TLD), a promising area located in block BM-SEAL-11. The new installation license will be valid until January 15 next year.
