Petróleo Brasileiro SA – Petrobras following up on the release disclosed yesterday, reports that progress has been made in the collection of oily waste (oil and water) leaked from the industrial waste treatment plant of the Abreu e Lima Refinery (Rnest), in Pernambuco.
The estimated leakage of 5 cubic meters was detected on Monday, 8/26, and controlled on the same day. The leaked product is contained in the internal area of the refinery. The cleaning work is being carried out with preventive containment barriers and vacuum trucks to collect the product.
The competent authorities were informed and representatives of the state environmental agency continue to follow the work of the safety and emergency teams. The refinery continues to operate normally.
