The President of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, and the President of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez, met with the objective of seeking a definitive solution on the disputes arising from the concessions of Conecta SA and the Gas Distributor of Montevideo SA. The presidents reached the bases of an agreement, by which:
a) The necessary administrative measures will be taken to close the concessions in force until September 30, 2019.
(b) Both parties shall take the necessary steps to bring an end to pending disputes, without any additional claims of any kind.
c) The Uruguayan State will assume the operations of both concessions through appropriate legal instruments, giving continuity to the services.
To implement the agreement, a working group will be formed with representatives of the parties involved, in articulation with the presidents.
