Petrobras has completed the discovery plans of Quindim and Brigadeiro, deepwater prospects of the Espírito Santo Basin, at the cluster called the Parque dos Doces. They are discoveries in the post-salt made in 2011 in block ES-M-525, of the 6th round of the ANP.
Petrobras has not drilled in the region since 2016. The Parque dos Doces project went off the radar when Petrobras withdrew from its business plan the installation of an FPSO in the region, which was scheduled for 2018.
The analysis of the results of the evaluation plans still needs to be done by the ANP. Petrobras operates block ES-M-525 (BM-ES-23) with 65% of the contract, along with PTTEP (20%) and Inpex (15%).
With Petrobras’ focus on the pre-salt, the Espírito Santo offshore ended up in second place. But beyond the Parque dos Doces, Petrobras made discoveries in the area called the Parque dos Cachorros (prospects Dalmatas, Labrador, Sao Bernardo, among others).
In the 11th round of 2013, in partnership with Equinor, Petrobras invested in the contracting of six blocks in deep water – the Norwegian operates four areas. And in the 15th round, Repsol and China’s state-owned CNOOC as operators one area each.
