June 24, 2019
Total E & P started the drilling of injection and production wells in the Lapa field, pre-salt of the Santos Basin. Four to six new wells are planned, which will be interconnected to the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba.
On Thursday 20, Ensco’s DS-9 began drilling the LPANEI3 well (8-LPA4D-SPS), which will be equipped for water and gas injection (WAG injector well). The drillship was contracted by Total to drill four wells, with the possibility of extension for two more. The Total project in Lapa provides for the drilling of up to three producers and three injectors.
With the investment, which includes the connection of the wells with PLSV-type vessels, the expectation is an increase in the production of the City of Caraguatatuba, equipped to process up to 100 thousand barrels of oil per day, but which produced on average 24 thousand barrels / day, between January and April of this year, through six production wells.
Total operates the Lapa field with a 35% stake, in partnership with Shell (30%), Repsol-Sinopec (25%) and Petrobras (10%). Originally, Petrobras was an asset operator with 45%, but sold a 35% stake in Total in a $ 1.95 billion business that includes the fields of the former Iara area, also in the pre-salt Santos, completed in 2018.
In the Iara block (BM-S-11A), Petrobras is operator with 42.5%, along with Shell (25%), Total (22.5%) and Petrogal (10%). In the region, there are the blocks of Sururu, Berbigão and Oeste de Atapu.
