Petrobras performs 1st transhipment operation at the Açu Petroleum terminal

The Petroleum Terminal (T-OIL) of Açu Petróleo (a joint venture of Prumo Logística and Oiltanking), located in the Porto Açu Complex in northern Rio de Janeiro, on May 24 and 25, performed the first Petrobras transhipment operation). The operation refers to the contract signed with the state company on March this year, with an initial duration of two years.

“To date, Petrobras has been operating in Brazil only at its own terminals in Angra dos Reis and São Sebastião, for oil exports. We are the first private terminal in the country to carry out operations for the oil company and this is a source of great pride for Açu Petróleo. Our differentials, such as the strategic location, close to the Santos and Campos basins, capacity to receive VLCC class vessels and transshipment in a sheltered area, were decisive in establishing this new and promising partnership, “said Victor Snabaitis Bomfim, president of Açu Petroleum.

T-OIL is the only private Brazilian terminal with capacity to receive ships of the VLCC class, with a storage capacity of up to 2 million tons of oil per day, with a capacity of 25 meters and licensed to move up to 1.2 million barrels of oil per day. barrels of crude oil. In addition, the transhipment operation is performed by a world-class operator, Oiltanking, in an area sheltered by breakwaters, allowing a reliable and safe operation, with less risk of impact to the environment, efficiency and reduction in the final cost for the customers, which increases the competitiveness of Brazilian oil.
