Brazilian federal prosecutors on Thursday charged 12 people in connection with an alleged bribery scheme meant to benefit oil trader Vitol Group at the expense of Brazil’s state-led oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA.
Prosecutors say at least $2.85 million in bribes were involved, but have called their discoveries so far the “tip of the iceberg.”
