Sepia FPSO with up to five Brazilian modules

Modec receives next week proposals from Brazilian shipyards and integrators to build the FPSO it will produce for Petrobras in the Sepia field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt.

The scope consists of the fabrication and integration of the flare and steam recovery modules of the platform, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2020.

This is the second quotation made by the company for the platform. Two weeks ago, the Japanese company received bids based on a larger scope, including two low pressure separation modules and an optional medium cooling skid.

Among the bidders are : Brasfels shipyards / integrators – traditional partner of Modec -, South Atlantic, EBR, Inland Shipbuilding, Jurong and Techint.

It is expected that the overall local content of the unit will be around 18%, well below the 65% forecast by the onerous assignment contract.

As published by Brasil Energia in February, the contract to charter the platform signed by Petrobras with Modec expects lower indices than agreed with the government.

As the contract is being revised, local content requirements tend to be reduced, in line with the recent ANP resolution on contracts signed between the 7th and 13th rounds of blocks, which established 40% for building and integration of modules .

The first Sepia oil is scheduled for 2021.
