PGS Offshore initiated the licensing of two campaigns to acquire 3D seismic data in the Espírito Santo and Potiguar Basins. The company’s forecast is to start acquiring data in Rio Grande do Norte in October and in Espírito Santo in January next year. The Espirito Santo campaign is expected to last 330 days and Potiguar 180 days.
The campaign in the Potiguar Basin will cover the area where Petrobras, Shell and Wintershall won exploratory blocks in the 15th round last month. The polygon of the activity has 11,603.00 km2 of area and is located 43 km away from the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, in waters with depths exceeding 500 meters. Seismic lines and their maneuvers will be executed east / west The company will use the ports of Fortaleza, Pecem and Natal to support the logistics of the campaign.
In Espírito Santo, the 3D campaign will cover the area where the exploratory blocks are taken by Petrobras and Statoil in the 11th round of the ANP, held in 2013. The polygon of the activity has 28,691.00 km2 of area and is located 51 km away minimum of the coast of the State of Espírito Santo, in waters with depths greater than 1000 meters. The ports of Vitória, CPVV-Vila Velha and Rio de Janeiro will be used for logistics.
