Motor-Services Hugo Stamp confirms acquisition of PP Engenharia of Brazil

The North American group MSHS (Motor-Services Hugo Stamp) announced this week the acquisition of the Brazilian PP Engenharia. The new company, MSHS Brasil, is born with about R $ 27 million of contracts in portfolio, of which more than 30% (approximately R $ 10 million) with Petrobras.

With a focus on maintenance services for engines and turbochargers, the company has among its main contracts one of maintenance of motor generators of the Barbosa Lima Sobrinho thermoelectric plant (UTE), operated by Petrobras, in the amount of R $ 1.5 million.

In the coming weeks MSHS is expected to sign a contract with Petrobras to maintain 64 engines of UTE Arembepe, at around R $ 7.5 million.

The company is now planning to increase its stake in the oil and gas sector and is already participating in bids, such as a tender for services at the Coari gas compression station, which receives the energy produced at the Urucu (AM) field.

Also open are invitations to the downstream, with demands for Reduc in Rio de Janeiro for the petrochemical complex of Camaçari in Bahia and with BR Distribuidora.

“And we are approaching Macaé [RJ] today, talking with Petrobras about platform activities,” says Fernando Alcaide, general director of MSHS Brazil.

He notes that the company caters to various types of equipment, with no brand exclusivity. “We compete with the equipment manufacturers, but we do not have a flag,” he says.

With annual revenue of $ 100 million, MSHS was founded 35 years ago by US-based Germans. The company also provides maintenance services for turbo-chargers, onsite machines and engineering and construction of automation and control panels.
