Siemens announced on Thursday that it has entered into a contract with Modec to supply four packages of offshore gas turbines to FPSO Carioca, which will be installed in the Sepia field, Santos Basin. The delivery of the equipment is planned for the end of 2018.
Siemens will also provide specialized long-term service and maintenance for the supplied components.
The Sepia FPSO was contracted by Petrobras in October last year from Modec for 21 years. In addition to the unit, Modec is also building the Guanabara FPSO, which will be installed in the first production module of the Mero field, an area of the Libra project, the first of the country’s production sharing.
