Prumo confirms negotiation with IFC for loan to thermoelectric project at Açu Port

Prumo Logística released a note confirming news of Friday’s Broadcast Column on negotiating with the World Bank’s finance arm, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), to borrow up to U$ 355.6 million from a thermoelectric project.

The company explains that the subsidiary Gás Natural Açu (GNA) is in talks with IFC and that this would be the first thermoelectric plant to be implemented in the Port of Açu through one of its subsidiaries.

A Prumo spokeperson says, however, that “no binding contracts have been signed so far for any financing for the said project with IFC.”

Still according to Broadcast Column, IFC, in addition to the loan, will also become a partner in the project, through a contribution of up to US $ 38 million.
